One Room Challenge: Week 7 - Modern Whimsical Nursery Makeover

Let's go ... it's week 7! Really, week 7? I cannot believe I am saying this. When I started the One Room Challenge Modern Whimsical Nursery Makeover I thought, "this time around I have eight weeks. I have so much time!". Well those weeks have just flown by, and we have a couple of weeks to the reveal! This means, it's really crunch time!

Before I delve into the progress I have made in the last week, I want to take a minute to share my gratitude. I have to say, I have truly been loving the process of making over this nursery for the One Room Challenge and really need to thank Linda Holt from the One Room Challenge and Better Homes and Gardens for continuing this biannual design/makeover event year after year! I also really need to thank my wonderful collaborators for their generosity: Sherwin Williams, Loloi Rugs, Ekena Millwork, Spoonflower, Maxim Lighting, Delta Children and The Pillowstore Company. I really could not have completed this space in my budget without these fabulous partnerships and I am absolutely delighted that they all pitched in to make my vision a reality.

This season, I have really pushed myself out of my comfort zone. I went quite bold with my design and incorporated floral patterns and a ton of color. I messed around (AGAIN!) with power tools, caulk, spackle, paint and wallpaper to create (many!) accent walls. And I'm so glad I pushed myself, because I am so pleased with how the room is shaping up!

So what have we accomplished? The room is painted, all the wallpaper is up, the trim is nailed and the crib has been built! I'm hoping to by this weekend, most of my to-do list will be complete (fingers crossed!).

So what's left? Here's the latest to-do list:

1) add crown molding - complete

2) add trim work to the walls - complete

3) paint the walls - complete

4) add wallpaper to the walls - complete

5) DIY built in bench/window seat

6) DIY a dresser

7) install chandelier

8) hang reading nook shelves

9) hang mirror above dresser

10) hang mobile above crib

11) assemble crib - complete

12) furniture and rug placement

I'm so excited about this chandelier! And I cannot wait to add in this rug!
