Hello friends! Welcome back to my home. I'm so excited to reveal the main star of my Christmas show this year - my great room tree! I'm joining several friends today who are sharing amazing Christmas tree ideas, so I hope you check out everyone at the bottom of this post!
Every year, I sprinkle a little bit of Christmas throughout my home, but the focus of my decor is usually on my great room. This year, I wanted something that was modern and snowy.
I rummaged through my Christmas bins and decided to combine a green tree with firefly lights with white tinsel to create a "snowy" effect. I then added some feather dusters throughout the tree to give the tree a snowcapped look.
The tree is adorned with white shimmery ferns and eucalyptus stems along with clear, white and silver ornaments.
I finished off this tree by adding snowflake ornaments and I think they are the perfect "special touch". The snowflakes add such a magical touch - I just love looking at them during the day and night.
Since this modern snowy Christmas tree is so decked and styled, I decided to keep the tree skirt and gift boxes simple. I added a few pretty packages to finish styling the tree.
When styling a Christmas tree, there are several tips that always work for me:
1) Mix and match colors of ornaments to create a new look every year. I try each year to use things I have without purchasing a ton of decor. Coming up with different color combinations is the easiest way to change up your decor.
2) Rely on metal ornaments as a staple in your decor. Over the years, I have used combinations of silver, gold, rose gold, champagne and white ornaments and find myself going back to these standard ornaments no matter the color or style of my tree.
3) Change out the ribbon in your tree for a completely different look. I didn't use any ribbon in this tree because I found it visually overwhelming. In all of my other trees, I have used ribbon and changed the color/finish/style of ribbon for a completely different look.
